These are the most frequently asked questions from our patients:
How does IPL work?
During treatment, light energy is transformed to heat energy. The target, such as hemoglobin or pigment, is fragmented and absorbed without damage to surrounding tissue.
IPL's broad spectrum allows the clinician to use the wavelength range appropriate to treatment, providing flexibility that is not possible with a laser's single monochromatic wavelength.
How many treatments are necessary?
We recommend a series of 4 to 6 treatments, every 3 weeks, for the best results.
Is there any down time?
Most people are able to return to regular activities the same day of treatment. Skin conditions can determine whether there will be minimal downtime.
Is IPL painful?
You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubberband. Most clients tolerate the procedure very well.
